Clipper Terms

Last updated:12 Oct, 2026

How this fits with our Terms of Service: these Clipper Terms are an addendum for anyone participating as a clipper — connecting a social account, submitting clips, or earning payouts. Our general Terms of Service still apply; where the two overlap, these Clipper Terms take precedence for clipper-specific activity.

1. Who This Applies To

These Clipper Terms apply to anyone who creates a clipper account on Outline Clips, adds a social media account (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or X), or submits a clip against a campaign. Creating a clipper account or adding a social account means you accept these terms in addition to our general Terms of Service.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must own or control every social account you connect
  • You must have the legal right to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction

2. Connecting Your Accounts

Before you can submit clips under a social account, we verify that you own it — either by checking for a unique code we give you in the account's public bio, or through manual review.

Your Responsibilities

  • Only connect accounts you personally own or are formally authorized to operate
  • Keep the account public and accessible so we can read its profile and your posts
  • Post clips only from an account you have verified, on the platform you select when you submit
  • Tell us promptly if you lose access to, sell, or transfer a connected account
  • Do not connect an account on behalf of someone else without their explicit, documented consent

What Happens If Verification Fails

If we cannot verify ownership, or later find that an account was misrepresented, we may mark it as needing reconnection, pause its clips from being counted, or remove it from your profile entirely.

Audience Verification

Some campaigns require a minimum share of your audience to be from specific countries. To qualify, you submit the top countries and percentages from your account's analytics, with a screenshot as proof, once for each verified account. We review it, and an approval does not expire.

  • Submit only accurate, unedited analytics from the account you are verifying
  • An approval applies only to the account it was submitted for
  • We may reject an audience check, or later revoke an approval and remove you from campaigns that depend on it, if it was inaccurate or misleading

3. Content You Submit

Which Clips You Can Submit

  • The campaign must be active, and you must have joined it (private campaigns require our approval first)
  • The video must have been posted from one of your verified accounts, on the platform you select
  • It must have been posted within the 72 hours before you submit it
  • Each video can be submitted once, to one campaign only
  • The post must stay public, with its view count visible, until your payout has been sent

Source Material

  • Only clip source material a campaign has explicitly authorized for use
  • A campaign brief's stated scope — permitted platforms, required credits, banned edit styles — is binding, not optional
  • Clipping outside an authorized scope (for example, using footage the campaign does not control) is your responsibility, not ours

Rights You Grant Us

  • You retain ownership of the clips you create and publish
  • By submitting a clip, you grant us a license to review, display, and reference it (including on leaderboards or campaign pages) for operating the platform
  • You represent that your clip does not infringe any third party's rights

4. Disclosure & Platform Compliance

Campaigns you clip for are commercial in nature. You are responsible for your own compliance with advertising and disclosure law in your jurisdiction, such as the FTC's endorsement guidelines in the United States.

Your Obligations

  • Disclose paid or sponsored content clearly where required
  • Use the platform's branded-content tag or an equivalent label
  • Follow the posting platform's community guidelines and terms of service
  • Follow any disclosure or crediting instructions in the campaign brief

Our Responsibility

We are not responsible for penalties, account actions, or legal exposure you face on a third-party platform as a result of your own posting or disclosure choices.

5. Prohibited Clipper Conduct

As a clipper, you may not:

  • Fake, inflate, or artificially boost view counts
  • Use bots, view farms, or paid engagement
  • Submit a clip you did not create or lack rights to post
  • Submit duplicate or unrelated clips to game payouts, or a video that was not posted from your own verified account
  • Submit false, edited, or misleading audience analytics
  • Make a submitted post private, hide its view count, or delete it before your payout has been sent
  • Operate multiple clipper accounts to bypass caps or limits
  • Connect an account you don't own or one obtained via a compromised credential
  • Attempt to manipulate the review, approval, or payout process

Consequences

Violating any of the above may result in clip rejection, forfeiture of pending earnings tied to the violation, and suspension or termination of your account.

6. Earnings & Payouts

How Earnings Are Calculated

  • Earnings are a set rate per 1,000,000 eligible views, stated on each campaign
  • A clip earns nothing until it reaches the campaign's minimum views per clip; once it does, all of its views count
  • The combined views of your clips in a campaign must reach the campaign's total minimum before any of them is paid
  • One clip can earn no more than the campaign's per-clip cap
  • Earnings are paid from the campaign's budget, and a campaign pauses automatically once its budget is fully earned
  • Earnings are added as views are counted, first come, first served. Once a campaign's budget is fully earned, no further earnings are added to any clip, so late or new clips may earn less than their views are worth, or nothing
  • Only approved clips are paid; rejected and blocked clips earn nothing
  • Views are the public view count shown by the posting platform, refreshed about every 12 hours, and may differ slightly from what you see in your own account
  • We may change a campaign's rate, minimums, cap, or budget while it runs and will notify you; the terms shown on the campaign when it settles apply to its earnings

Estimates and Settlement

Amounts shown before a campaign settles are estimates, not a balance you can withdraw. A campaign settles once it is paused and every clip has been reviewed, with none held for a fraud check. At settlement, rejected and blocked clips are removed, approved clips are locked in, and one payout is created for you for that campaign.

Payouts

  • Payouts are sent after settlement, not instantly, by the method each campaign specifies (bank transfer or crypto)
  • They are sent to the bank account or crypto address you provide on the Payments page
  • You are responsible for keeping these details accurate
  • We are not liable for funds sent to payout details you provided incorrectly, and such payments generally cannot be recovered
  • If a payout fails, we will notify you and you may need to correct your details

7. Teams & Referrals

  • You can create a team and share a referral link; people who sign up through it within 7 days of clicking it are added to your team
  • The team owner earns a commission on the amounts referred members are actually paid, at a rate the owner sets between 0% and 10%
  • A change to the rate applies to future payouts only; commission already earned keeps the rate it was earned at
  • Removing a member detaches them from your team immediately

8. Review, Rejection & Removal

Every clip submission is subject to review. We may reject a submission, exclude it from view counting, or remove a previously approved clip if it violates these terms, a campaign's rules, or the posting platform's policies — including after payout calculations have already run, in which case affected earnings may be reversed or withheld.

If we find that a clip's views are fake or manipulated, we may block it. A blocked clip earns nothing, its views do not count toward your campaign totals, and it stays on record so it cannot be deleted and resubmitted. Our review decisions are final.

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your clipper account, disconnect a social account, or withhold pending earnings tied to a violation, if you breach these Clipper Terms, our general Terms of Service, or applicable law. You may stop using the platform and disconnect your accounts at any time; earnings already approved prior to any suspension remain payable subject to our standard payout schedule.
